If you are making the trip to the Saint Louis Science Center for Body Worlds 3, you should also check out Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure now playing at the Omnimax.  Great film on the big 180 degree screen and you get $2 off admission when you also visit Body Worlds 3.

Eighty million years ago, Earth was a very different place. Europe was small group of Islands and places like U.S. Midwest were completely underwater. Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure transports viewers back to this world and brings them face to face with the dinosaurs of the deep.

Sea Monsters follows a family of Dolichorhynchops , also known as “Dollies,” as they swim ancient waters inhabited by fascinating creatures like saber-toothed fish, prehistoric sharks, and giant squid. Audiences will discover how scientists have been able to identify the physical and behavioral characteristics of these animals with the help of modern-day technologies. Using evidence such as shark teeth found throughout central United States, paleontologists are able to gain a better understanding of our planet in the dinosaur age. By studying remains left behind, investigators can also piece clues together that tell the story of how these dinosaurs lived, what they ate, and what they looked like. Moviegoers also visit the excavation sites where evidence such as fossils and bones are discovered, as scientists work to re-create the world of Sea Monsters .
