Saint Louis Science Center on Facebook?

Although there has been no official annonement, the Saint Louis Science Center has launched a page on Facebook. The new Facebook site lists events, general information and will feature videos and pictures as well. Once people “Friend” the site it will allow them to stay current on events and activities at the Science Center in an environmentally friendly way.
Rumors are spreading that the Science Center is trying to hit 1,000 members in the next week and will announce a launch party for people who “friend” the site.

Space Ship Lands in St. Louis

There are some interesting things popping up around town that appear to be part of a new exhibition opening at the Saint Louis Science Center in a few weeks. According the the Saint Louis Science Center web site the exhibition opens May 3rd and features animatronic monsters – many from popular movies.

DNA Day at the Science Center

On Friday April 25th, the Archon X PRIZE for Genomics will partner with the St. Louis Science Center to celebrate DNA Day, created by the National Institutes of Health to educate students about the wonders of DNA and its importance as the basic code of life. The St. Louis Science center has scheduled many kid friendly, interactive events, including making DNA bracelets, DNA tattoos and cheek cell swab experiments. Visitors can also watch several performances of a play about the Archon X PRIZE for Genomics or chat about the genetic traits of dogs with the breeder of Uno, the beagle who won “Best in Show” at the 2008 Westminster Dog Show.
